WTF of the Week...

I mean, what the hell...

So, let's set the scene. Philadelphia Eagles (5-5) entering the hostile environment of the 10-0 New England Patriots. From the word "go" Andy Reid was doing everything in his power to keep the Pats' high-powered offense off of the field. And his plan was working. To add to the story, AJ Feely was having himself one hell of a football game. After his interception thrown on the 1st drive, the guy looked like friggin Joe Montana out there. Quite impressive. More impressive, was the Eagle's defense, working overtime to stifle the ever dangerous Randy Moss. On the night of the NFL's largest ever point spread ever, the underdogs were doing there part to shove it right the odds maker's ass.

Then, on the final drive, to lead his Eagle team to victory, AJ Feely was brought back down to earth. You see, this is what separates the greats from not-so-goods. In an attempt to bring himself straight to the top of the NFL headlines this year, AJ Feely decided to shit the bed. Only three points down, with all the time in the world, and already within field goal range - AJ throws up a 40 yard bomb, straight into the hands of the defender, and gives the Pats their 11th win of the season. AJ Feely was 4 minutes away from greatness, and would have had an entire cheese steak nation asking "Donovan Who??" Instead, he makes my WTF of the week. Strong work.

WTF of the Week

I am starting something new on the site. Every week, I am going to discuss the WTF story, person, or event, that instantaneously makes your jaw hit the floor. This week, I am going to make it very short and simple. After watching the Democratic debate, with their collection of complete misguided misfits, I realized that someone up there, really stood out like a champ. In a group that could easily be accepted as the Bad News Bears of politics, one guy would still be riding the pine - even if they couldn't field a full team. My choice for the WTF of the week -

Dennis Kucinich

Barack Obama Protests the Pledge

Talk about a picture being worth a thousand words....Or, more importantly, how a picture can make you feel a thousand different feelings. None of which, will cause me to pull a lever for this disrespectful, and despicable presidential hopeful. While our beloved men and women still spill their blood for our freedoms, this man cannot find the desency within himself to show respect to our national symbol. I see the flag waving in the wind, and I get teary eyed. This guy just passes it off as he goes through the motions of campaigning for a job. I see the flag and I think of my friend, Michal Murphy, burried under the soil that he died fighting for. I think of all the sacrifices seen through the years, and those we shall see in the future. Freedom is not free my friend Barack. Neither are the hearts and minds of the American people. Actions always speak louder than words...F U!

Hillary just sucks...

Are you kidding me? When does the f-ing deceit end? This pathetic excuse for a woman and presidential candidate, can't even get through a single press conference without partaking in underhanded behavior. Her entire existence is so forced and artificial, that she needs planted college students to ask her canned questions. How is she still even on the map for this race? When will her supporters realize that they are being dealt THE largest shit sandwich ever?? With a year to go, I am really looking forward to the flow of information. The Clintons should have disappeared after Bill left the White House without serving jail time. We'll see what happens after Kathleen Willey's book "TARGET" begins to get more attention... Does anyone else find it funny that Bill Clinton is at all of Hillary's campaign events, getting the crowd riled up? It is completely hysterical! Bill F-ing Clinton. I mean, just watch him as he walks toward the podium these days. No actual steps required, he just slides across, and leaves behind a snail trail.

Tom Brady is the Man!

Are you kidding me with this guy? I have been a long time fan of Tom Brady, and with each year, and each big game, I get more and more impressed. He just gets the friggin job done. Again, and again, and again. The game they lost to the Colts last year in the AFC championship? Well, I'm fully convinced his receiver just ran the wrong route, causing the interception, and loss of the game. Today's game was a perfect example of the guy just having pure ice in his veins. Most people, when they want something really bad in life, they hold on extremely tight, and it just completely renders them useless. Some people, the special people, take that desire, that fear of failure, and shove it straight up the ass of whoever, whatever, is standing in their way of success. On the road, losing late in the 4th quarter, hostile crowd, and Brady throws a 45-yard f-ing bomb to set up the go ahead touchdown. The guy plays with an absolute perfect blend of precision and reckless abandon. Sure the ball could have been easily intercepted, and they could have lost two in a row to the Colts. Truth is, those thoughts never even come close to entering his mind. Does not happen. Tom Brady is one of the special people.

Good Reading...

Here is a link to an article written in the New York Times, discussing some inaccuracies reported by our friends on the left. In their never ending attempt to utilize health care to gain political necessity, the subject of the Canadian health system and its perceived progress, takes center stage as exhibit A. This article will help to elucidate some of the more overused fuzzy figures...

F Yourself A-Rod

This morning, a friend called me, hoping that I could discuss a story he came across on espn.com. I told him I would look into it, and bring it to life if I thought it would be interesting to discuss. So, I opened up my laptop, went to the site, and searched the headlines for the story. Nothing. I called my buddy back, asked him once again to better explain its location, or send me the direct link. He happened to be away from a computer, so I was on my own to hunt this story down. The headlines alone were enough to drive me insane. However, once I finally read what I was looking for, the true heartbreak occurred.

I begin to read about a little boy from Michigan, a high school sophomore with a deadly case of Leukemia. I read on, and I am completely touched as I learn about the outpouring of community support and individual sacrifice that surrounded this courageous young man. I mean, just when I think the youth of America is completely screwed, I read about a high school making sure that a young boy doesn't leave this world alone and scared, but that he leaves this world as a King! One by one, each of the candidates for Homecoming king, removed their names from the ballot, and ensured that young Eli Florence would get the recognition and victory he deserved.

Eli Florence was a young man who's life was unfortunately cut very short by cancer. His spirit lives on through his mother, Trina, who has set up a foundation to provide support to families with terminally ill children. Like many other parents, Trina had to make the decision to forgo a career, and more importantly, a steady income. She believed that a dying child deserves every minute of their parent's time. Eli was also of this belief, and knew in today's world, that desire is often thwarted by overwhelming pressures and tremendous economic demands. Eli had come to grips with his fate, and knew God had a purpose to request him so soon. His last wishes were for his mother to pursue making his dreams a reality, and allow other moms and dads a chance to spend time with their children, before they leave this world...forever.

I continued to read some more on the story, and after wiping my eyes dry, I made the mistake of going back to ESPN's main page. There staring me right in the face, was a picture of Alex Rodriguez. The headline stated how this dick, and his piece of shit agent Scott Boras, are looking for 350 Million dollars from the Yankee organization. 350 Million Dollars. I just read an inspirational story about a young boy who will never see the 11th grade, and how his mom will never be able to work her way out of financial debt, and now I see this. If my company didn't own my laptop, it would be in pieces. Talk about a difference in life experiences...One kid's greatest night in life was to stand up out of his wheelchair in front of his classmates, with a Home Coming crown around his head. While another individual has the balls to request 350 million dollars to play a game. WTF? A-Rod, do yourself a favor, fire your agent, devote yourself to a team, and work like hell to create some sort of a legacy. Because honestly, in my eyes, YOU ARE SHIT! I hope to God you come across this story, or others like it, and it hits home. You are in the news for three reasons, and three reasons only, f-ing over baseball teams, f-ing up in the big game, and f-ing around on your wife. What a role model.

I apologize for the rant at the end - but it needed to be said.
